About Confirmation

Confirmation in The Lutheran Church is not a sacrament, rather it is season of life for followers of Christ to learn about the basics of the Christian faith.  At Village Lutheran Church, Confirmation class is broken up into two years.  The first year focuses on the overall narrative of the Holy Scriptures.  The second year we learn from a book called "Luther's Small Catechism" which teaches the six chief parts of the Christian faith.  Those parts include the 10 Commandments, the Creed, the Lord's Prayer, the Sacrament of Holy Baptism, Confession, and the Sacrament of the Altar.  We also talk about what it means to live as followers of Christ in our world today.
